STAND Together is a self-advocate group supported by The Arc Montgomery County, comprised of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Formed in 1984, the group works with federal, state and local public officials to create a better understanding of issues affecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Along with giving testimony at state and county hearings, STAND Together supports bills, issues and referenda at the state and federal levels.
The group also works together to support each other, learn to share feelings and express concerns. It aims to improve and develop both business and personal relationships, sharing Spirit, Teamwork And New Determination Together.
