What We Do

Overview-What We Do

Each day, The Arc Montgomery County directly supports nearly 600 children, youth, adults, seniors and families.  We help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve a higher quality of life and sense of belonging within their community.

  • We provide fully-inclusive child care for children ages six weeks to 10 years with and without developmental disabilities and chronic medical conditions.

  • We support youth up to age 21 through social and recreational opportunities and provide retail skills training to interested young adults.

  • We assist adults with work skills training and employment opportunities and encourage and assist them with inclusive community living.

  • We encourage active retirement lifestyles and help seniors safely remain in their own home by providing respite care.

  • We offer resources and educational workshops for family members and short-term relief for unpaid family caregivers.

  • We provide pre-screened and well-qualified work team members to local businesses, supported by on-site support staff as necessary.

  • We help each person find his or her voice by supporting advocacy efforts.
