This is a chance to ask questions about issues and organizations that will be most important in the transition beyond high school. Participants will be able to choose from seven break-out rooms, each with an expert who will primarily be answering your questions:

1. Maryland Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDA) General Information – Nicole Sheppard, Transitioning Youth Coordinator

2. Self-Directed Services (DDA)– Alicia Wopat, parent/Self-Directed Advocacy Network and Reda Sheinberg, Parent

3. Evaluating Service Providers (DDA) –Rosemary DiPietro, Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services

4. Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) – Adam Travelpiece, Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist

5. Social Security Administration - Diana Varela, Public Affairs Specialist, Social Security Administration

6. Mental Health – Shawn Lattanzio (Montgomery County Local Behavioral Health Authority) and Molly Brado (Cornerstone Montgomery)

7. Spanish – Lisa Lorraine (Breaking Barriers/Jubilee Association of Maryland) and Gladys del Pozo (Enriqueciendo Vidas) will host this breakout room entirely in Spanish, sharing information on the other six breakout room topics, answering questions or forwarding to the appropriate expert.

You must register for the March 24 webinar. Registration closes at 7 pm on March 23. You will receive a Zoom link to the email address you register with shortly before the webinar.
