Inclement Weather & Holiday Closings

The Arc Montgomery County typically follows the schedule of the Federal Government for inclement weather.  However, we have always reserved the right to make a different decision from the Federal Government if necessary, based upon local conditions.

Due to the special circumstances caused by the pandemic, the inclement weather policy for this fiscal year (FY21) has been revised.

Administrative Offices may close, depending on the status of the Federal Government, but essential operations will continue via telework.  All employees, in all divisions and departments, who have the ability to telework are expected to work remotely.

Children & Youth Services programs will open if conditions are safe for both families and employees.  Decisions about delayed openings and closures will be communicated directly to families through Bloomz.

Community Living Services will continue to operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, as people shelter-in-place during the pandemic.

Employment & Meaningful Day Services will continue providing virtual supports as scheduled.  E&MDS employees currently supporting Community Living Services will continue in their roles.  E&MDS community-based employees will follow the schedule of the community-based job site, except that if the site is closed, those employees will be reassigned to a Community Living home.

Personal Supports will be provided as scheduled, unless the person supported requests a change or the employee cannot safely get to the location.  Families should connect with the Team Coordinator if alternate arrangements need to be made.

Training Classes will be cancelled and rescheduled where appropriate if the Federal Government is closed. When the Federal Government announces any delayed opening, training classes will begin at 10 am.
