Supporting Healthy Dating Relationships
Learn about dating from Sex Education expert and author Terri Couwenhoven, a sexuality expert for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. People with intellectual disabilities often encounter a unique set of barriers as they move into the dating world. In this workshop, parents will explore these obstacles, identify helpful roles for parents and/or support providers, as well as identify strategies for educating and supporting self-advocates about dating. This workshop is designed for parents who have a child age 16 or older. Parents of younger teens are welcome to attend.
Please note: While anyone may attend this virtual workshop, it is designed to be an introduction for parents/caregivers, registering their loved ones with intellectual and developmental disabilities for the in-person sexuality workshops scheduled for April 5-6.
Cost is $5 per person
